Trailers

On this page, you will find all of the trailers for GTA IV and screenshots captured from the videos and descriptions for you impatient dial-up users.

Trailer One – Released Mar 29, 07

The trailer begins with a train going by, then it fades to a blue car driving past what looks like a roller coaster. It then fades once again to a gray car driving in a neighborhood. Fade once more to a ferry terminal along with some seagulls gliding by. The trailer then moves on to show off the lighting engine on a building with a sign that says Liberteen, then to a church, then to a mock up of the Statue of Liberty (did I mention that I believe GTA IV takes place atleast a bit in Liberty City?), followed by some random buildings, one of which that looks quite familiar, then a building that looks like a stock building, then what looks like a hotel that has a logo sign that says ‘Getalife’, a bunch of those hilarious advertisements Rockstar loves to make, then what looks like the inside of a building looking out, (wow, run on sentence, eh?) then to the inside of the train station, again showing of the lighting effects, then to a very familiar area that resembles NY and a nice downtown area of LC. Finally, it zips past a large group of somewhat unique pedestrians, then to a bridges.

A russian man, who I believe is the character we will be playing as, begins to speak, “Life is complicated,” clip to the man, “I killed people,” clip to ship, “smuggled people, sold people.” Clip to bridge walkway, “Perhaps here, things will be different.” Fade to shot that shows off the draw distance so far, then fade to the GTA IV ‘IV’ logo, then to the Rockstar logo, then to the Rating Pending logo. End trailer.

Trailer Two – Released Jun 28, 07

The trailer begins as it fades into a sky-by of a bridge, also showing off a couple of buildings. Clip to a dynamic view over a blue car driving across a bridge, the it goes to a new camera angle inside of the car, showing Niko. During this, a man says “You’re looking for some people,” followed by Niko saying “We are all looking for that special someone.” Clip to Niko sitting down, then to the blue car again, stopped at a toll bridge, where he then drives off. Clip again, to Niko talking to a new person, saying “I need to know what happened. Give me that!”.

Clip to Niko driving with two cars behind, one being a cop. He then drives by the 69th Street Diner saying, “But in years, I’ve been searching.” Then it shows a close up of Niko, followed by him walking down the stree past a hotdog vendor. Then to Niko talking in what looks like a restaurant kitchen as he says “I did this for you! I guarentee that you will find this man!”. Clip to Niko and a man, possibley Roman, walking down a hallway, where they continue to kick in a door. Then clip to Niko riding a PCJ motorbike. Followed by a clip of a woman, who says “Please, no more killing!”

Then you see Niko sticking close to a graffiti covered wall with his gun drawn. As he turns the corner, you see a graffiti of El Burro from GTA III and a police car parked by a fire escape. Afterwhich, you see a police barricade in front of a bank and more police rushing to the scene on foot. Then back to Niko, looking around the wall from a moment ago. Then Roman says, “Don’t do anything stupid, cousin!” Then more cops, followed by a very nice, sleek looking helicopter with gun turrets. Then Niko jumping over something and then him holding onto the back of a speeding Cluckin’ Bell truck, with a voice over saying “We have to find him,” then “Fine! You got it! You want my word? You got my word!” Then clip to the man speaking having a confrontation with Niko. Then to Niko hanging off of a helicopter.

Then Niko fist fighting someone, and then to him walking down the stree with different scenery clipping behind him. Then you see Niko firing with a gun he retrieved from his truck, which you do see open. Then you see his tire get popped. Then you see his car being fired upon by police officers where he proceeds to speed off and begin a police chase where you see a police car flip. Clip to Niko talking to someone, shaking them, saying “I am the one, who survived!” Then clip to Niko speeding towards a gas pump where he jumps out, then the car hits the pump causing a large explosion.

Then you see the camera spinning around Niko while he talks on the phone, as his contact says “Get this done, and we’ll talk.” He then hangs up. Then fade to black and GTA IV logo.

The game’s main character, Niko Bellic, is an Eastern European who is deceived into coming to America by his cousin Roman. Roman, who owns a taxi depot in Liberty City, has gotten himself into debt with Russian mobsters and seeks to his tougher, stronger cousin Niko for help. He lies to Niko and claims that he is living the American Dream with large amounts of money, fast cars, and beautiful women, and convinces him to leave his country behind and come to Liberty City. It has been hinted that Niko is leaving not only for adventure, but because he is searching for someone and wants to leave behind some recent mistakes. When Niko arrives as an immigrant, he discovers life is very different from what he expected. He begins working missions for Roman at his taxi depot in Broker and struggles to stay afloat in the gritty Liberty City.
